Python for Data Analysis (Beginners - 2024)

What will you Learn

In this Beginner’s Course: Python for Data Analysis, the following topics shall be covered:

1. Introduction to Python, how to use the Python programming language for data science

2. Data Analysis Libraries such as NumPy, Pandas

3. Visualization with Matplotlib, Seaborn and Plotly


Who is the trainer


Dr. Arvind Keprate is an Associate Professor in Mechanical Engineering at Oslo Metropolitan University in Norway. He holds a PhD in Offshore Technology from University of Stavanger and has about 10 years of industry experience primarily in the energy sector. He has been a visiting researcher at Prognostics Center of Excellence at NASA Ames Research Center, California, USA, where he used Python to build surrogate models for engineering simulations. He also teaches Machine Learning, Deep Learning and Probability & Statistics. His research interests are in the field of Prognostics Health Management, Industrial AI, Decision Support Systems, Digital Twins for Engineering systems, Reliability engineering, Additive Manufacturing and Renewable Energy systems.


Requirements

  • The course is for Beginners. No prior programming experience is required. However, some minimal experience or knowledge of data handling and willingness to learn and invest time with Python is needed.

  • Participants need to have their own laptop with Anaconda and/or Jupyter Notebooks installed. The course is taught in a regular seminar room, not a computer lab. It is recommended that you bring a power cord for your own device. Please visit anaconda.com to install the software.
